Future Network Services 6G

Timeframe Since 2024
Agency Dutch National Growth Gund
Role Task Leader

A unique alliance of 60 top-notch ICT companies, semiconductor firms, and research institutions from the Netherlands has united within the Future Network Services (FNS) project. The goal is to spearhead the development of 6G, while focussing on several aspects: software antennas, AI-driven network software, and groundbreaking 6G applications. more

My role in the project is twofold: (1) I investigate how an Appstore for AI Applications can support developers and (2) how to improve the security monitoring of cloud deployments.

FASTEN: Fine-Grained Analysis of Software Ecosystems as Networks

Timeframe 2019-2022
Agency EU-Horizon
Role Scientific Coordinator of 7 partners, PI at TU Delft

The FASTEN project partners were developing an intelligent software package management systems that enhances robustness and security in software ecosystems. The research and development activities included innovative ecosystem analysis techniques, with C, Java and Python applications. Derived techniques tackle the problems of security and risk evaluation, license compliance and change impact analysis. Moreover, a back-end service and a knowledge base host the results of those analyses while the integration of those analyses reach the developer’s workflow and Continuous Integration (CI) tool chains. more

Teaching Grant

Timeframe 2019
Agency University of Zurich
Role Solo Application

Learning how to program is a pillar of education in Computer Science. The growing number of students makes it challenging to maintain the level of personal feedback for each student and to ensure that programming assignments receive timely feedback. In this projects, I have lead a small team of student assistants. We have created an assessment platform that allows students to participate in individual program assignments. Students receive automated feedback through a central submission system. The system has been used in the first year lecture Informatik 1 since.

KaVE: In-IDE Tracking of Developer Activities

Timeframe 2012-2015
Agency German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) Software Campus
Role Solo Application

Integrated Development Environments like Eclipse or Visual Study play a big part in the productivity of developers, but little is known about how developers actually spend their time. In this project, we built an in-IDE tracker to monitor developers while they are working in their normal environment. The collected data builds the foundation for studies on development activities, for example, to evaluate intelligent code completion, or to automatically assess testing activities. more
